How much does a guided fly fishing trip cost?
A full day on the Lower Sacramento is $550, and a full day on the Trinity or Klamath is $600, each for up to two anglers with rods, reels, flies, streamside lunch and water. A half day of up to four hours is $350 on any river; Trinity and Klamath half days require an associated full-day booking.
How do I pay for a guided trip?
Schedule your date with Matt first by phone, text or email, and he will arrange payment with you. Matt accepts Zelle, Venmo, check or cash. There is no online checkout.
Can I book a half day on the Trinity or Klamath?
Yes, but per Matt's booking page a half day on the Trinity or Klamath River requires an associated full-day booking. Half days on the Lower Sacramento are offered on their own at $350 for up to two anglers, about four hours on the water.
What do full and half days include?
- Full day ($550–$600): up to 8 hours, up to 2 anglers, streamside lunch, bottled water, rods, reels and flies. Additional boats quoted on request.
- Half day ($350): up to 4 hours, up to 2 anglers, bottled water, rods, reels and flies.
How do I book a trip with Matt?
- Choose your river and trip. Pick the Lower Sacramento, Trinity or Klamath River and a full or half day from the rates table.

- Plan the details with Matt. Matt confirms your date, river, where to meet and how to pay (Zelle, Venmo, check or cash).
What should I bring on a guided trip?
- A California fishing license if you are over 15 years old
- A steelhead report card for Trinity River steelhead
- Waders and wading boots for the Trinity (go up one or two boot sizes in winter)
- Layered clothing, a waterproof shell, gloves and a warm hat for winter trips
- Your own rod and reel only if you prefer them — rods, reels and flies are provided
